Pickleball Pro (Independent Contractor)
The Altadena Town & Country Club is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Pickleball Pro to collaborate with us on offering Pickleball programming at the Club. We are looking for a contractor who is driven and able to conduct lessons and clinics, generate demand for same, and develop and oversee all Pickleball programming in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
We are a private club with a sizeable potential client base. There is currently a strong and growing demand for private lessons. We are seeking a Pickleball Pro resource (Independent Contractor) who has the energy, drive, and hustle to build a thriving pickleball community through creative programming and attention to our member’s pickleball needs.
Description of basic requirements:
● Passion for teaching and motivating others to reach their full potential.
● Conduct lessons and clinics with patience and enthusiasm.
● Be able to facilitate organized group play, round robins, league play, mixers and match arranging.
● Service provider with a minimum 4.5+ skill level and be certified (or willing to attain certification) Pickleball Pro with IPTPA, PPR, or USTPA.
● Ability to provide instructional services in private and group lessons to help players improve their technique, strategy, and overall performance.
● Ensure lessons are executed to meet the needs of all ages, levels, and abilities.
● Plan activities and be able to adjust them to the needs of each participant of the lesson/clinic.
● Have excellent communication skills.
● Must have proficient knowledge of up to date Pickleball rules and trends.
● At least 1-year Pickleball teaching and programming experience at Pro Level to adults, teens, and young children.
● Advanced playing ability, good organizational skills and leadership skills to build rapport with members and their guests (or participants).
● Report to Club’s Tennis and Pickleball Director and provide input to promote the Pickleball program.
● Maintain cleanliness after use of the facility, removing equipment and personal belongings.
● Effectively communicate issues to the Tennis & Pickleball Director that directly affect the Club and work collaboratively with Club staff.
● Provide professional opinion or recommendations relating to the maintenance of the courts.
● Adhere to safety guidelines and inform management of any safety related concerns.
● Ensure the billing of all Pickleball services are submitted timely and accurately.
Service Relationship: Independent Contractor – Pickleball Pro must have an independently established business involving Pickleball instruction. The Club may require proof of business entity/license.

● Cover letter expressing interest in and your approach to building a Pickleball community.
● Resume or CV.
● Description of similar work experience as lead instructor, business operator and reflecting supervisory experience.
● Remuneration/fee: to be negotiated.
● Three (3) professional references for similar services you have provided. Provide a brief description of each including the activities and any special requirements in providing your services. Please include name and telephone number of your references.
● CPR certification.
● SafePlay program certification.
● Provide proof of Professional liability insurance.
● Professional accreditation from USPTA, PPR, or IPTPA.
